HoofBook Privacy Policy

The short version

HoofBook keeps everything on your device. There is no account, no server of ours, and no tracking. The app makes no network requests — your horse list, owner contacts, work history and photos never leave your phone.

What we collect

Nothing. HoofBook does not collect, transmit, or sell any data.

• No accounts or sign-in.
• No analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, or third-party trackers.
• No location, no maps, no geocoding — a barn is simply a name you type.

Because the app collects nothing, our App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected."

Your data stays yours

Everything you enter — horses, hoof sizes, cycles, owner names and phone numbers, work records and photos — is stored locally on your device.

• Export anytime. CSV or JSON export hands you the whole book. If you delete HoofBook, your book is still yours.
• Delete everything. Settings → "Delete all data" permanently removes every horse, record and photo file from your device.

Owner (third-party) information

When you save an owner's name or phone number, you are the data controller — that information lives only on your device. HoofBook is not the collector.

• Notifications show aggregate counts only (for example, "2 horses due this week"). They never show a horse's name, barn, or owner.
• Text messages to owners are pre-composed and you press send. HoofBook never sends messages by itself and never includes a horse's sizes or private notes.

Photos

Photo access is requested only at the moment you attach a photo. If you decline, every other feature keeps working. Photos are stored as files on your device and are excluded from CSV/JSON exports (exports reference them but do not contain the files).

Not veterinary or farriery advice

HoofBook is a record-keeping and scheduling tool. It does not provide diagnosis, treatment, hoof analysis, or any veterinary or farriery instruction.

Children

HoofBook is a professional tool and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above is updated. Because no data is collected, changes will be limited to clarifications.
