PaperMiles collects no personal data. Your log sheets, signatures, carrier and truck details, and the locations you type stay on your device. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. The app makes no network requests.
PaperMiles never asks for location permission and never reads your position. Locations in your remarks are what you type yourself. That is the point of a paper log: it records what you enter, nothing more.
PaperMiles has no backend. Nothing you enter is transmitted anywhere, and the app works fully offline — at a roadside inspection, a rest area, or anywhere without signal.
Log sheets (duty-status lines, remarks, header fields), your finger signatures, your driver and carrier profile, truck presets and settings are stored locally in the app. A log leaves your phone only when you share or print a PDF or export a backup file, and only to the destination you choose.
If you turn on the sheet reminder, PaperMiles schedules a local notification on your device. Its text never includes your carrier, truck number, miles or locations. You can turn it off in Settings at any time.
PaperMiles contains no analytics SDK and no third-party trackers. No usage statistics are collected, and nothing is used for advertising or tracking.
You can export all your data as a JSON backup file from Settings and restore it later. The file is created on your device and goes only where you send it. Your device's standard iCloud or encrypted backup, if you use one, is managed by Apple under your iCloud terms — PaperMiles has no access to it.
Delete a single sheet from its screen, use Settings → Delete all data to erase everything at once (sheets, signatures, profile, cached PDFs and the widget), or delete the app. There is no account to delete.
PaperMiles is not an electronic logging device (ELD) and is not registered with or approved by FMCSA. It is a paper-format record of duty status for drivers who are exempt from the ELD rule. Whether you are exempt is determined by your carrier and FMCSA rules.
PaperMiles is a tool for commercial drivers and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
