Stitchkeep Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-19

The chart you photograph and every stitch you have counted stay in this phone's own storage. Stitchkeep has no account, no server of ours, and makes no network requests at all.

Your charts are read on this device

When you photograph a paper chart or open a PDF, the grid detection and the symbol grouping run on the phone itself, using Apple's Vision and image frameworks. The picture is never uploaded for processing — not to us, not to any AI service. That is a design constraint of this app, not a setting: there is no code path that sends an image anywhere.

What is stored, and where

Three things live in the app's own sandbox on your device: the chart image you brought in (and the perspective-corrected copy the app draws on), which cells you have filled, and the names, notes and per-day counts you build up as you stitch. Nothing else is recorded.

Camera and photo access

The camera is used only when you tap to photograph a chart. Photo access is used only when you pick an existing picture, and only the picture you choose is copied in. Neither permission is requested at launch, and the app works without them if you set the grid by hand.

The home screen widget

If you add the widget, the app passes it numbers and the project name only — percent complete, stitches left, stitches today. Your chart photo and your notes are never handed to it, because the home screen is a surface other people can see.

No analytics, no advertising

There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter and no advertising identifier in this app. Nothing about how you use it is collected or transmitted. What the developer can see is what App Store Connect shows every developer: aggregate download and rating figures, never tied to a person.

Backups you make

Settings can write your whole library — chart images, progress and notes — into one backup file. That file is created on your device and goes only to the destination you pick in the share sheet. If your phone has iCloud or an encrypted computer backup switched on, that copy is handled by Apple under your own iCloud terms; Stitchkeep has no access to it.

Charts belong to their designers

Stitchkeep is a record-keeping tool for charts you already own, the way a highlighter is. It has no chart store, no gallery, no community and no way to send a chart to another person — the only path out of the app is the backup file you make for yourself. The one chart included in the app is a small practice design drawn by us in code.

Children

Stitchkeep is a hobby tool rated 4+. It collects nothing from anyone, including children, and has no social features, no chat and no purchases.

Erasing everything

Delete a single project from its card, or use Settings → Delete all records to remove every project, image, cached file and the widget's numbers at once. Deleting the app removes the same data. There is no account to close and no request to send us, because we hold nothing.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that would let anything leave your device would contradict how the app is built, and is not planned.
