Stitchkeep keeps your place in a cross stitch chart. Photograph the chart you are already working from, let the app find the grid, then fill in each stitch with your finger as you sew it. It works the way a highlighter on a paper chart works, except you can undo.
Full cross stitches, on a grid up to 900 cells on a side. Back stitch, fractional stitches, French knots and beads cannot be drawn on a square grid, so they are not tracked — keep the paper chart beside you for those. The app says this on its own information screen too; it is a limit of the model, not something we hide.
The grid did not line up with my chart. Tap "Set it by hand". Type the number of rows and columns printed on the chart edge and drag the four corner handles onto the chart's corners. Everything after that — filling, progress, the finish estimate — works exactly the same as the automatic path. It is not a lesser mode.
It says 4 columns when my chart has 40. Charts print a heavier line every ten squares, and if the photo only shows those heavier lines the app can only see one line per ten. Rather than guess, it lowers its confidence and asks you to set the number yourself. Type 40 and carry on.
Nothing fills when I drag. One finger fills; two fingers move and zoom. If the canvas moves instead of filling, you have two fingers down.
Where is my chart stored? On your phone only. There is no account and no server, and the app makes no network requests — see the privacy policy.
When will my project be finished? Once you have stitched on two separate days, the library card and the progress sheet show a range based on your own recent pace, with the numbers it used. It is an estimate from your history, not a promise.
Can I move my projects to a new phone? Settings → Back up writes everything into one file. On the new phone, Settings → Restore from a backup file reads it back.
How do I erase everything? Settings → Delete all records. Projects, images, cached files and the widget's numbers all go.
Something is wrong and I want to report it. Email the device model, the iOS version, and what you were doing. Nothing leaves your phone, so we cannot look anything up — your description is all we have.
